OK, I have to admit it right off the bat! I'm a first class hoarder when come to some of my favorite crafting items. you know, ribbon, washi tape, favorite patterns of paper. and oh yes! sequins!! I love looking at the glittery shiny stuff so much i never want it to leave its glass container. Well this week I'm pulling out and sharing some of my favorite projects using sequins :0) Like many of you my head is always going, spinning with ideas. seriously, I can see a cute shirt at Target and get an idea for card. sometimes it comes to me during the process which is how this first card combing stamping and sequins came to be. I hope you enjoy!
I started playing with a cute pattern stamp from Momenta and I was at a loss for how to fill in the shapes, coloring, watercolor, snipping patterns of paper? then I saw my shinny little sequins sitting all alone in their jar..... I started by stamping the image onto a craft card stock using hero arts blackboard ink which is my favorite black ink by the way. It gives the darkest most crisp look in my opinion. Then i decided it should have a shinny look to match the sequins so I embossed it with some clear embossing powder.
I knew I wanted to use this darling pumping from October afternoon witch hazel as the focal point so I popped it up with some dimensional adhesive, added the thanks die cut from the lawn fawn line and a card was born! I love how it turned out and I used sequins in completely different way! whoo hoo!!
My next project is a cut from the A frightful affair cricut cartridge that i pretty much cut and pasted together by making multiple cuts of the same image using different patterns. Her cauldron though needed some sparkle and shine to bubble, so I added some sequins. this was a real pain but so worth the end result. I started using glossy accents but it didn't dry fast enough so I opted for hot glue instead, once i got a good layer to stay put adding them was easy.
I hope you enjoyed my very first blog post and you'll join me for lots more fun in the future. Please leave me a comment if you have any questions about the products I used. See you soon.....
